It's hoped that such materials may be a possible supplement to metal alloy prosthesis already in use. In fact, it has been discovered at the microscope level the structure of some wood is very similiar to bone tissue. Furthermore, the structure shares biomechanical properties such as strength and lightness, thanks to hierarchical organizzation.
