A synthetic genome for Escherichia Coli.

This article has aroused a great stir on 7th May, when it has being appeared on Nature. Two American researchers, from Scribbs Research Institute, was able to sythetize an artificial DNA which doesen't exist in nature, and make it reproduce in a Escherichia Coli cell.

We everybody know that life alphabet consists in for letter: A, T, G and C, resulted from the initial letter of the four nitrogenous bases which compose DNA molecule. DNA is a double stranded molecule, to form a double helix. The hidrogen bonds which take plache between two bases of complementary strands force the Adenine join with Timine, and Guanine with Cytosine.

Nature has, in this way, four combination to code proteins: AT, TA, GC and CG. But, if we add other two cpmplementary letters, for example X and Y, the alphabet accordingly becames longer and there will be more possibility of writing; that is synthetize new protein and new organisms which aren't in nature.

These scientists have insert a base pair of XY base in E. Coli DNA, by replicating them without mistakes during the DNA copy.
