The evolution of acquatic invasive species

Acquaitic invasive species are marine plants or fish which, normally, are evolved in one location and, subsequently, are introduced to another location.

Theese "alien" species may destroy its new habitat, by taking it over, damaging the other living organisms in a several kind of ways. Or, "alien" species can find their new habitat unwelcoming and die off.

Invasive species are forced to migrate because of the lack of food and they thrive in the new habitat for the lack of natural predators which control their increase populations.

An example? The lionfish (screened on photo), unknown in the Americas until three years ago, is spotted from Rhode Island to Belize.
